In nature, the boundary where two or more habitats come together is known as the edge effect. In this transitional space, the area is very rich in biodiversity. Qwindtet Copenhagen follows a similar principle, bringing together five musicians from three different countries to create a unique sound that is both fresh and innovative. Qwindtet Copenhagen was founded at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and their repertoire includes many standard works for wind quintet, in addition to transcriptions of orchestral works, and transcriptions of Danish folk songs for wind quintet. Future collaborations include works with additional instruments. They have performed in Copenhagen, Haslev, and Helsingør and their 2019-2020 season includes appearances at the 2-3-4-5 Concert Series and Wednesday Concerts Series in Copenhagen, a recital at the Vrå Art Museum in Jutland, and additional appearances in Scandinavia. Qwindtet Copenhagen is coached by Professor Max Artved, former solo oboist of the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
